How AI is transforming reporting in Bromcom MIS and Vision

/ Joanna Grimbley-Smith

Our reporting module, Quick Reports, already speeds up and simplifies the onerous process of building reports by giving users ability to easily export filtered data, create reports based on templates, and even schedule them for automated email delivery. But our latest AI features are streamlining the process of report creation even further, helping users build more useful reports, analysing the data, and pulling out insights so school and MAT leaders can focus their time on actioning them.

In this blog, we’ll explore our current AI capabilities in Quick Reports, and give you a sneak peek at our up-and-coming AI feature Analytics on Demand which is due to be released in the summer.

How Bromcom AI can help you create and analyse reports

Right now, you can use the Bromcom AI Data Bot in our MIS and Vision to analyse a report you’ve generated. You can ask the bot specific questions about your data and it’ll surface the insights instantly, and it can even come up with suggested prompts for you, such as questions school leaders and governors would typically ask (e.g. “what’s the average attendance for each year group?” or “which students have the highest and lowest attendance?”).

Our upcoming tool Analytics on Demand will take this one step further, creating and analysing a report end-to-end for you.

Analytics on Demand

Creating a report with this new AI tool is simple – you can even ask broad prompts to create reports, such as “is there a link between behaviour and attainment?” and it’ll generate the report and flag the insights. Not only does it streamline the process of generating reports considerably, giving your team and school leaders time to focus their attention elsewhere, users don’t actually need to get near the data to quickly pull the information they need.

It’s so simple to create a useful report with it, anyone can use it – including people that aren’t data managers. A senior leader can ask it for “three strategies for improving attendance” based off their data and it will give them the answers they need, or you can ask it questions that someone in a specific role, like a governor, would ask and then give them the output.

Analytics on Demand can provide more detailed and comprehensive analysis too, picking up on blind spots in your data or analysis that you may ordinarily have missed. Our new AI capability will act as an auxiliary member of your team, freeing you up to action the findings from the reports.

Analytics on Demand will be available in both Bromcom MIS and Vision, and offers different establishment types a range of different benefits, such as saving time for staff in primaries that wear multiple hats and have to generate reports for each, or helping trust leaders rapidly analyse vast amounts of data from across their schools.
