From the moment I stepped into the room, it was clear this wasn’t just a conference – it was a conversation. A conversation between trusts, schools, and Bromcom. And it felt like we were all working from the same playbook: putting learners first and using data and systems to genuinely improve outcomes.
Partnership in action
What struck me most was how actively our customers shape the direction of what we build.
Cabot Learning Federation – our hosts for the day – shared their journey migrating 11 academies onto Bromcom in under eight weeks, followed by another 10 secondaries in the following month. It was a case study in what’s possible when planning, training, and a strong internal network come together.
Their primary schools, special schools, alternative provisions, and secondaries all transitioned with pace and precision. They embedded the new systems through hands-on support, good communication, and a strong data culture, and they’re already pushing forward into a new phase of optimisation: turning data into insights using tools like AI to deliver maximum impact.
Listening and acting
One of the most rewarding parts of the forum was the feedback – both formal and informal – that poured in throughout the day. From how we communicate about user groups, to how updates are shared, to how we support the wider ecosystem around exam season, our customers gave clear, considered input.
We’re already taking action on what we heard, ensuring that our customer operations, communication, and user group structures continue to reflect the needs of those on the ground.
The human side of data
In between product roadmaps and timetabling demos, there were dozens of moments that reminded me that this work is, at its core, human.
The trust leader working on data strategy to inform student interventions. The school business manager optimising behaviour reporting for better classroom management. The data lead exploring timetable models for long-term staff absence scenarios. These are complex challenges, but they’re also stories about people who care, who are navigating ever-changing environments and making things better every single day.
We often talk about Bromcom’s vision of a unified platform and data-driven decision making. But seeing those principles come to life in the experiences of our users is something else entirely.
Looking ahead
To everyone who joined us: thank you. You brought insight, ambition, and real-world context that that makes me proud everything we do. And you reminded me, once again, why this work matters.
