In November 2025, Bromcom released improvements to its Seating Plan feature on the MIS and Teacher App (for tablets only). These updates make it faster and easier for teachers to create, customise and manage their seating layouts, all within a single system.

- Drag-and-drop design tools
Teachers can now freely drag and drop furniture, seating, and students into place, making it quicker than ever to build personalised seating plans. - Smarter student assignment
The updated interface allows users to toggle the Add/Remove Students panel, select all students at once, and easily add or remove pupils, reducing admin time and simplifying classroom set-up. - Expanded furniture library
The refreshed library includes new layout shapes and resizable tables, enabling teachers to scale up their room designs and create more accurate, flexible plans. - Seamless cross-platform editing
Teachers can now view and edit the same seating plan across the MIS and Teacher App, ensuring consistency and reducing duplication.
These upgrades were shaped directly by customer insight, including MAT-level feedback that highlighted priorities for classroom management and ease of use.
March 2026 update: Faster behaviour management with a smarter Seating Plan
Bromcom’s latest Seating Plan update is designed around what matters most in the classroom. It helps you manage behaviour quickly, stay in control of your lesson, and spend less time navigating the system.

You can now record behaviour directly from the seating plan in just two clicks. There’s no need to open additional screens or break away from teaching. Behaviour can be logged as it happens, helping you respond consistently while keeping the lesson on track. At the same time, you can instantly view behaviour information, whether you want to see behaviour events that have happened today or patterns over time, all without leaving the seating plan. - Make confident decisions with the right behaviour context
Behaviour information updates instantly and can be filtered to show exactly what you need, including everything recorded today or only incidents you’ve logged yourself. This gives you clear, relevant context so you can make informed decisions in the moment. - A seating plan that’s easy to work with
Whether you are teaching a small group or a full class, you can zoom, pan, and adjust the seating plan to suit your room. Everything scales smoothly and stays easy to read so you can focus on teaching rather than adjusting your screen. - Spot pupils who need support straight away
Each pupil tile brings together the most important information in one place, including behaviour indicators and key student flags. This makes it easier to identify pupils who may need attention and act early before issues escalate. - Focus on the right pupils at the right time
You can highlight specific pupil groups, such as SEND or disadvantaged pupils, directly within the seating plan. This helps you adapt your teaching, target support during lessons, and ensure you have a comprehensive understanding of your class. - Access pupil information without losing flow
If you need more detail, you can open a pupil’s profile straight from the seating plan and return instantly. This keeps you moving smoothly through the lesson without losing your place. - Designed for real classrooms
Sensitive information is protected when your screen is displayed to pupils, and seating plans can be easily printed or shared with cover staff. This ensures everyone supporting the class has the information they need.
