Bromcom turned 38
Bromcom was founded in July 1986, making it 38 years old in the summer! It’s also been 13 years since we launched our cloud MIS, the first MIS on a cloud in the UK, but thankfully it’s been far from an unlucky year for us.
Over 2000 schools chose Bromcom
We are delighted to confirm that over 2000 schools have decided to switch to Bromcom MIS this year. This includes 50+ academy trusts as well as schools from our historic contract wins in Northern Ireland and Wrexham – but more on them later!
BromCommunity hit 8000 members
In November, our online forum for users, BromCommunity, officially tipped the scales at 8000 members. BromCommunity provides a space for users to share best practices and ask questions that other users can answer and discuss. It also celebrated its second birthday this year, and it currently has record numbers of weekly posts and comments.
We were chosen to deliver MIS services to 1100 schools in Northern Ireland…
2024 started off on a great note with the news that the Education Authority Northern Ireland (EANI) selected our One-Stop Shop MIS for all of Northern Ireland’s maintained schools! You can learn more in this article announcing the news and this recent update article.
…and Wrexham County Borough Council selected our MIS for their 71 schools
In July we were very proud to announce that the first Welsh local authority to switch MIS had chosen Bromcom. Just like in Northern Ireland, we’ve the system to accommodate Welsh regulations and Welsh users’ needs, including making sure our parent and student apps are available in Welsh and England – a first for a Welsh MIS.
We hosted and attended 33 in-person events
This includes our event at The Shard in June where we brought together schools, trusts, and LAs for a day of networking, keynote talks, and exceptional views at the London landmark, as well as other key dates in the EdTech calendar like Bett, the Schools and Academies Show, and The National Education Show.
We conducted research among 498 schools for our attendance whitepaper
In April we worked with Schoolzone to explore the current trends in rising school absences, turning the findings into a whitepaper that garnered plenty of attention from school and trust leaders and publications like The Guardian. You can find the whitepaper here.
Our team grew to 200+ employees
75 new people joined the Bromcom team in 2024, helping us surpass the incredible milestone of 200 team members! We’re hoping to expand even further next year – you can find out about our vacancies here.
