As we wrap up another busy week of demos and deep dives, a few clear themes have emerged from my sessions with schools and trusts: the appetite for more efficient, integrated, and user-friendly MIS solutions continues to grow. It’s also been insightful to see what resonates most with schools exploring Bromcom. Let’s explore what schools were most interested in about Bromcom last week.
Parent and student engagement is key
Many of my demos focused on how schools can improve engagement through our parent portal MyChildAtSchool and our MIS’ built-in communication tools. Schools are particularly interested in streamlining attendance tracking and behaviour reporting, and sharing real-time updates to parents via our parent app. They were also impressed by the flexibility of the system and its ability to integrate with third-party tools like ParentPay and Evolve.
Multi-academy trusts (MATs) need better visibility
My discovery sessions highlighted the growing need for better MAT-wide reporting and analytics. Schools want real-time insights into performance, attendance, and finance across multiple sites, allowing leadership teams to make informed decisions faster. This is an area where Bromcom’s robust reporting features are proving to be a huge advantage.
Customisation and integration matter
Schools are looking for an MIS that adapts to their unique needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Some were particularly interested in customisable dashboards, AI-generated content for assignments, and seamless integration with Google Classroom. Similarly, there was plenty of discussion about how Bromcom can support home learning, homework setting, and reporting detentions in a more automated way.
Transition planning is a hot topic
Several schools are considering switching MIS providers but are concerned about transition timelines and implementation processes. Schools appreciate having a clear roadmap for onboarding, training, and support to ensure a stress-free move to a new system.
Financial and safeguarding integration is a growing priority
For alternative provision, the ability to manage safeguarding and financials within one platform is crucial. Discussions on budget tracking, finance module integration, and safeguarding workflows reinforced the need for an all-in-one solution like Bromcom’s One-Stop Shop MIS that simplifies administration without adding extra workload.
Looking ahead
With another packed schedule of demos next week, I’m keen to continue these conversations and help schools find the right solutions for their needs. Whether it’s improving engagement, streamlining admin tasks, or providing trust-wide insights, Bromcom is proving to be a compelling option for schools looking for more than just an MIS – they want a partner in their digital transformation.
