Using Office 365 as part of your school MIS

Using Office 365 as part of your school MIS

For those who use it, Office 365 has become an intrinsic part of School life and something we’ve all come to rely on.

It gives you the ability to create and share Word and Excel documents, develop PowerPoint presentations, and connect with both staff and students through Microsoft Teams.

Unfortunately, for those who want to get the most out of the software, they are finding a significant amount of admin is required to set up accounts, pupils, classrooms and so on.

Bromcom Cloud-MIS integrates Office 365

At Bromcom, our mission is to provide a one-stop-shop solution for schools. Where there’s functionality that goes beyond the realms of an MIS, we want to ensure that schools have a seamless experience by working with a wide range of partners to create automated integrations.

Office 365 is the perfect example, so we partnered with Microsoft to create something that will both enhance the use of the product, and vastly reduce your admin burden.

How does it work?

Here are some examples of how schools can utilise Bromcom’s Office 365 integration:

  • Outlook  One single sign-on
School staff, teachers and students will be able to use their Office 365 account to log into Bromcom services. There’s no need to remember or manage multiple accounts; one login will give access to all integrated apps.
  • calendar  Calendar sync
Calendars in the MIS will automatically sync with Office 365, keeping staff and students updated with what’s going on and where they are meant to be.
  • OneDrive  OneDrive Transfer
Any documents in the MIS can be automatically sent to OneDrive and appropriate sharing permissions will be applied. Staff don’t have to worry about manually selecting suitable groups and waste time searching for individuals.
  • Microsoft Teams  Classes and groups through Microsoft Teams
Classes and Groups in the MIS can automatically be recreated in Microsoft Teams for both teachers and students, meaning there’s no need to manually setup the wide range of associations for each individual account.

There’s a wide range additional settings and functions that give you total control of the integration. For any questions, or just to have an informal chat on our products, drop us a line or give us a call.
